City of Dreams and Dogs: My First Steps in the City of Angels

Moving to Los Angeles was a leap of faith - a ticket to an exciting new chapter. With the city's iconic palm trees swaying above and the Pacific Ocean's endless blue ahead, I was ready to embrace all that the City of Angels had to offer. Today, I want to take you on a walk down memory lane, retracing my first steps in LA, with a few fun detours along the way.

Welcome to Santa Monica, the city within a city. The combination of its coastal beauty and the dynamic energy immediately won me over. Not only did the stunning beaches and vibrant nightlife provide a refreshing contrast to my New Jersey roots, but it was also here that I met Maddie.

Adopting Maddie from the Santa Monica Animal Shelter was the first of many surprises LA had in store for me. This adorable, energetic bundle of fur became not just my pet but my companion and muse, accompanying me on my new life's journey.

Life wasn't all sunsets and dog walks, though. Like many who venture into Hollywood's realm, I had to juggle multiple hats. By day, I honed my skills as a dog trainer, working with a variety of canine personalities that only added to my learning curve. But as night fell, I found myself amidst the buzzing nightlife of Jameson's Irish Pub, serving drinks and enjoying the wild LA nightlife. Who knew that this dive bar would become a melting pot of inspiration for my future creative endeavors?

While Maddie, dog training, and Jameson's kept me grounded, my friend Sean and I were just getting started on our film journey. Armed with a shared passion for storytelling, we spent hours filming short films – honing our skills, making mistakes, learning, and evolving. These early experiences would serve as the stepping stones to our creative enterprise, DBS Productions.

Living in LA, I've learned that it's not just about reaching your destination; it's also about the journey. From the shores of Santa Monica to the buzzing pub nights, and the shared passion for filmmaking, every step of the way has been an adventure. And the best part? The journey's still going.
